Editing & re editing images.
This is the process used to make sure photographs appear thier best before sold etc. Editing usually involves processes that alter the lighting, color, exposure, viberance, contrast and more in a photograph. Images may be cropped to emphasise aspects of the image or even darkened, lightened, blurred and sharpened to show or hide areas of the image to give it an over all better more asthetic look. While many point and click cameras and smart phones offer very similar options to those mentioned above it needs an amount of skill and knowledge in photographic process and practice to get a truly pleasing effect.
Re touching images.
Re touching a photograph is a way photographers can digitally re edit to make the subject more asthetically pleasing. Things like skin tone or blotches, spots & scars, lines, wrinkles in fact any blemish can be removed if that is what the customer infact wants. Eye color can be brightened, teeth whitened, waist lines shrunk down and boobs lifted up! Rubbish in the background and dirt on the lens can be magiced away as can annoying distractions from the photographs subject.
Scanning negatives.
With a bit of know how and the right gear those old 35" negatives sitting in the draw can be converted into digital images for you. They can be brightened up fixed of stains and scratches edited recorded onto a cd rom or dvdr for your own use enjoyment.
